Installation Instructions for 27000 to 27006 Piston Rings

Notes:

The tabs at the edge of the box show which rings fit in the top groove, 2nd groove, and 3rd groove (oil ring). Do not spiral cast iron rings on piston – Use a ring expander to install the rings on the piston.

• Top Ring – doesn’t have any dots and can be installed either way up.

• 2nd Ring – Has a dot and the dot must face upward toward the top of the piston.

• 3rd Ring (Oil Ring) – Install thicker spacer in groove on piston. Spiral thin steel rails into the top and bottom of the spacer.
