1. Remove the oil pump from the engine if so installed.
2. Remove base (bottom) of the oil pump.
3. Partially remove the retention pin from the base by driving it out just far enough to remove the spring. (Illustration 1)
4. Remove and replace the spring.
5. Drive the retention pin back in just flush with pump face. (Illustration 2) Just in case you have damaged, broken or lost the retention pin we have included one for your convenience.
6. Clean the mounting surfaces (pump facings) from any oil residue. Brake parts cleaner on a cloth is recommended.
7. Re-install the base (bottom) to the pump. Torque to 6-9 lb-ft.
