Installation Instructions for 23620 Oil Pump Pickup Retainer

1. Insert the oil pump pickup and tube into the oil pump as indicated in the manufacturer service manual.

2. Remove the two oil pump bolts marked A and B in the illustration.

3. Spread apart the retainer loop #D approximately 3/4”. Install the retainer around the pickup tube #E as indicated in the illustration.

4. Re-install the oil pump bolts removed in step 2. When installed, the pickup retainer should be held in place by bolts A and B. Tighten bolts to manufacturer recommended torque setting.

5. Install the new bolt #C into the retainer, making sure that it passes through both holes and using the lock nut provided, tighten the nut and bolt fully.

6. Rotate the engine one full turn and check for any interference.

7. When installed properly, the retainer will be secured as shown in the illustration.
