Installation Instructions for 1050 Pocket Practice Tree

  1. Install battery. Slide open rear battery compartment cover and install a 9 volt battery. Replace cover.
  2. Power on. Press and release the MODE button. The unit will display the JEG'S logo and immediately goes to the Pre-Stage mode ready to practice with.
  3. Set Tree Type. Press and release the MODE button until the display says TREE. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to select the tree type you want. There are four tree types available .400 Pro, .500 Full, .500 Pro and .400 Full. Press the Trigger button to save and exit.
  4.  Set Roll Out. Press and release the MODE button until the display says ROLL. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the Roll Out time. Press the Trigger button to save and exit.
  5. Set Delay Box. Press and release the MODE button until the display says DB. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the Delay Box time. Press the Trigger button to save and exit (set Delay Box to 0 if you don't use a Delay Box).
  6. Set Bump Time. Press and release the MODE button until the display says BUMP. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the Bump time (set the Bump time to zero if you are not using Bump).
  7. Taking a Run. When the unit is ready the Pre-Stage will be on. Press and hold the Trigger button. This will turn the Stage light on. The tree will activate automatically. Release the Trigger button to launch.
  8. Reaction Time. After each run, the unit will display your reaction time. A perfect reaction time is .000. Launching too soon will cause a red light. The unit will return to the Pre-Stage mode in a few seconds.
  9. Statistics. After each run you can display your statistics by quickly pressing and releasing the Trigger button while the Pre-Stage light is on. Your reaction time average will be shown for a few seconds, then the total number of runs you have made (the Green light will be on) and then the number of red lights (the Red light will be on). Note: Statistics are for the current training session only. All statistics are cleared when the unit is turned off. If you want to clear the statistics, turn the unit Off and then back On.
  10. Delay Box Adjustment. Just like in your race car, you can easily make a last second change to the delay box. While in the Pre-Stage mode, use the UP and DOWN buttons to tweak the delay box. The first press of either button will display the current Delay Box setting. Continue using Up and DOWN to make any changes. The unit will remember the change and return to the Pre-Stage mode in a few seconds.
  11. Power Off. The unit will automatically shut itself off if left alone after five minutes. You can manually turn it off by pressing and holding both the UP and DOWN buttons at the same time while in the PreStage mode.
  12. Using Bump. Top bulb racers can use the bump to add or subtract a fixed amount of time to the delay box. After launching, hit the UP or DOWN buttons to add or subtract the Bump time to the delay box.
  13. External Switch. An external Trigger switch can be plugged into the 3.5mm phone jack on the top of the unit. This must be a normally open push button type switch. Do not connect this jack to an external power source. Damage will result. Call JEG'S to order an external switch.
