Customer q:
Hello. Can you tell me if this booster and master cylinder give me enough power to brake my '79 Firebird with front and rear Wilwood disc brakes measuring 12.19" disc and Dynalite 4 pistons caliper? And what is the better? I currently have the 8" booster and Wilwood tandem master cylinder and the car does not brake. Is a better combo for the maximum brake power with a price range of $150-300? Thank you in advance!
CAR MAKE & MODEL
make = Pontiac
model = Firebird
year = 1979
JEGS ANSWER:
You will find these to be a better option vs the Wilwood tandem.
However, if this issue is a lack of vacuum to operate the booster properly you will not see an advantage. If you have a large cam, these will not produce the vacuum needed to operate your brakes properly. You will need to test the vacuum. If the vacuum is low, changing the booster/master will not help, if you have low vacuum using an electric vacuum pump such as #28146 is needed.
