Customer q:
I have a 1999 Camaro SS with the 6 speed manual transmission. I purchased and installed the FAST EZ-EFI (302000) and XIM (3013122). Before starting the install, I spoke with one of the techs at FAST and I was told this kit wound eliminate the factory harness and computer. Right now the car runs really well and I am mostly satisfied with the products. The problem I'm having occurs when shifting to and driving in reverse.
It is very difficult to shift into reverse gear and when driving in reverse, you can tell something is not right. As soon as I let off the gas pedal, the car stops as if the brakes are on. The car will not coast at all when in reverse. Per the instructions I received from FAST, the factory harness has been removed and that includes the electrical connectors that went to the transmission. The transmission has never had any prior issues, and other than removing the factory harness, no modifications or changes were made to the transmission.
Can you please assist me with diagnosing and solving this issue? That is the only problem I am having. I did notice after driving in reverse for a very short distance (just backing it in the garage), there was a slight burning smell. The smell went away after only a couple seconds. I have not driven the car since then in fear of messing something up. What you think it could be? Thank you for your help in this matter and any input is much appreciated.

JEGS ANSWER:
If it has a new clutch that is normal, but otherwise I am unsure that is going on unless you just have a bad synchronize for the reverse gear.
