Customer q:
Looking for some help in picking a cam. The 302 is a 1969 block .060 over with New Federal Mogal 10.5-1 pistons. I am using a set of 1967 289 54.5 cc heads that are mildly ported on the exhaust side. I will be running headers and an aftermarket aluminum intake not yet purchased. Carb will be a Holly 4777 650 CFM with moderate work. I am going for that "built in the early 70s" look, feel and sound, so I would like to hear the cam.. Would I use the COMP Cams RP1431-16 rocker and push rod kit with that? I also see that they recommend screw in studs and push rod plates with that cam. Is that the only option? Thanks

JEGS ANSWER:
Edelbrock cam kit #350-7122 would be a good fit with your combination. And since you are needing more that just the cam and lifters, I suggest trying Comp Cams #249-K31-238-3. And yes, #RP1431-16 can be used. In my opinion, these are the best options for you. Good luck and if you need further assistance, know we are here 24/7 to answer all your questions.
