Customer q:
I am cleaning up under my hood and want to replace the radiator hose heat sensor mount. I am running two Derale fans off of a JEGS relay system. I have too much draw on startup. I emailed about this before and you gave me a great answer, but I decided to stick with what I've got for now. I want to buy the Flex-A-Lite 32082 with dual mounts for sensors. The Flexalite unit does not have a place for a ground wire. I want one fan to turn on at 185 and the other at 200. If I use a JEGS Performance Products 10562 Replacement single wire temp sensor, can it be grounded on the frame by completing the circuit? I.E. two wires off the sensor one from hot the other to ground? Or will this not work? Any access points on the head are rusted over. The only access point that is available is on the water pump itself. Even that is questionable. I have always been leery of this point because of the heat generated in that part of the motor. I always thought the wires would melt. Any advice would help. Thanks

JEGS ANSWER:
For the sensor to work in that tube, you would have to find a way to ground it to either the frame or the engine to get it to work. If there are no openings in the intake, you would have to put it in the top hose and you would need to provide a ground. It just won't be as accurate as it would be in the intake front crossover.
