Customer q:
Hi,
I have a 292 inline six Chevy engine that never worked before but obviously been sitting in the garage after purchased since 1982. I would like to get all the attachments such as an alternator, starter, carby and the rest. In particular, I am looking to install a smaller size starter as I want to fit a power steering unit from a different truck into it. I am wondering what would you suggest and also should I take the engine apart and change the gaskets for it or it will be okay?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

JEGS ANSWER:
You can use Pertronix small starter #S3000P and a Powermaster alternator #713-7294. We do not offer a replacement carb. I would have to suggest you rebuild. As for the motor, replacing gaskets couldn't hurt since you are unsure of the currently condition. If you need any further assistance, we are here 24/7.
