Customer q:
I need to replace my tired 75 350 Chevy engine from a 75 Monte Carlo which is in my 50 Chevy sedan and am wondering will a 95 Chevy 350 Truck motor bolt to my 700R4. Also can I switch the Edelbrock Performer intake over from the 75 engine to the 95 engine? (it does not have Vortec heads)

JEGS ANSWER:
With some slight changes your engine swap should not be a problem! The 700R4 transmission is a very similar non-computer controlled version of the 4L60E or 4L80E transmission that should have been originally attached to the 1995 Chevy 350 truck engine.
If the 1995 Chevy truck had a manual transmission you will need to remove the pilot bearing or bushing from the end of the crankshaft and replace the flywheel with a flexplate - 555-601074
For the intake swap there are bolt adapters available for converting the center four bolt holes from early angled pattern to late straight pattern - 428-52112 but you may have to slot the center four intake manifold holes and the adapters are not very stable. I would recommend either swapping your old style cylinder heads over to the newer block or purchasing the correct intake manifold for the 87-95 cast iron truck heads: Weiand - 925-8170 or Edelbrock - 350-2104
