Customer q:
Lifting and building my truck up.I am going 38 inch tires and want a 5.29 gear ratio. My question is "will I have to upgrade my carriers in front and rear for that low of a gear?" Reason I asked people are saying I will have to go to a straight axle and I can only get up to 4.56 in my front diff. I seen a video a guy doing a Jeep and all he had to do to get I think 5.13 was change his carrier breaks and that made it where he was able to go 5.13. So I am trying to figure out if I will have to change Carrier breaks or find an aftermarket diff.. like I said I don't want straight axle. I like the ride IFS gives me.

JEGS ANSWER:
It depends on which diffs you have. The smaller 8.5s you can not but if it has either of the danas which are more common in those trucks you can go that tall.
