Customer q:

I recently bought a JEGS fuel level gauge, part #555-41457. This model has the "press on trim rings". These trim rings DO NOT press on. I have contacted customer service 3 times and had a second one sent to me. Customer service has no idea how these press on and has offered me no help. I have also posted in a forum with no results either. I've already bent the housing on one gauge trying to press it on. It seems no one on earth knows how to press on these rings. Please help me.

JEGS ANSWER:

I do apologize that you have had this issue with the JEGS gauges. I have pulled a gauge and looked at this myself. The factory installed black ring is glued in place. You must pry this off using a knife or small screwdriver. You will destroy the black ring during this process. The new silver ring fits on the the face of the gauge and you will need to use some glue or silicone sealant to hold the new ring in place. Let us know if you need additional help with this.
