Installation Instructions for 23671 & 23672 Oil Heat Pad

Installation Instructions:

1. Sand area the heat pad will be applied to bare metal. Smooth any protrusions. NOTE: If oil sump is of porous material spread a thin layer of High-Temp RTV over area the heater will be applied to fill all pores.

2. Thoroughly clean surface. Use solvent if necessary.

3. Peel off backing paper. Avoid touching the adhesive.

4. Pre-warm pad for 5 seconds by plugging in to activate adhesive. Also warm the surface the heat pad is being applied to over 80 degrees.

5. Apply heat pad.

6. Squeeze out any trapped air or creases.

7. Weatherproof heat pad with High-Temp RTV around all edges. 8. Allow 24 hours for adhesive to fully cure. WARNING: The heater may be hot. Surface heats rapidly. Burns may result from touching heater surface. Heater cools slowly after disconnecting power. Keep away from water. Do not clean in solvents.
